My name is Ashley Senske and I am an archivist and historian local to the Western New York area, specific to Chautauqua County.
I have my Bachelor's degree in History and a Master's degree in Information Library Sciences with a concentration in Archives (You can learn more about my educational background and experience via my LinkedIn site icon at the bottom of the page). I have a passion for learning and preserving history, including my own family's. I have been working on our family ancestry for at least 10 years. I believe our tree is up to about 600 people and has gone back as far as the 1500s!
I am beginning a new adventure of helping others with the same interest in their family history, while using my advanced research skills I have learned and honed over 7 years of a college education in the history field. If you're someone who wishes they knew more but doesn't have the time (or doesn't want to spend the time) for the research, I am your woman! Believe it or not, I find this sort of thing really fun and enjoyable and could talk about it all day.
My work is done with resources I have available to me in my little corner of the world, including both online and in-person visits to local historical institutions and town halls that house many local records. I utilize both free and paid-for genealogy services to help me find records to substantiate members in your family as well. My degrees have helped me realize that there's always ways to find answers, you just need to know where to look, and I certainly know where to look!
I would love to help you with your research whether you're local to my area or someone out of town trying to trace your family out our way. Please send me an email to setup a time to chat.
